Description
No. 21 Market Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 18th century and features a 19th-century rear wing and a 20th-century shopfront. The exterior is finished in stucco that is incised to resemble ashlar, and it has a timber shopfront. The building has a heavily coved plaster cornice beneath a pantile roof. It is two storeys tall with an attic and has a two-window front. The first-floor windows are 12-pane sashes with painted stone sills, while the attic features a gabled dormer with a 2x4-pane sliding sash window. The interior has not been inspected. This house was originally part of a pair, with the other half incorporated into No. 23 Market Street.
