9/11 Aisled barn at Church Farm (lOm to SW of the Forge)

Barn. C17, possibly incorporating an earlier aisled framework. Timber frame on red brick sill with steep pitched roof now of corrugated iron. A 5-bay tall aisled barn facing S with central gabled porch. Heavy jowled posts with expanded ends to aisle-ties and heavy square section brace from wall posts halved over aisle tie and housed in back of arcade posts. Long curved braces to cambered tie-beams. Clasped purlin roof with inclined queen-posts except in end bays with a collar and queen- struts. Face-halved bladed scarf joints in arcade plate.
