Description
All Hallows, located at the southwest corner of The Green, is a house built in 1917 by F C Eden for John Howard Carter as part of a picturesque scheme reminiscent of Blaise Hamlet. The house is constructed of roughcast brick with a black plinth and features a steep thatched roof with a hip at the north and half-hips at the south and west. It has a gabled two-storey porch. This large house has one and a half storeys and faces east, with a central rear wing. The front is irregular and picturesque, showcasing two tall panelled red brick square chimneys, three eyebrow dormers with small casement windows, and a two-storey gabled porch that has a weatherboarded upper floor. The porch includes a wide oak plank door with ornamental ironwork and a small shuttered central opening with wooden mullions. To the right of the porch, there is a thatched projection. The house generally features two-light casement windows. An engraved stone plaque with a Latin inscription is located on the south end.
