Description
This is a barn and former wheel house from the 18th century, located about 70 meters west-southwest of Tewinbury Farm House. The barn features a timber frame set on a brick base and is weatherboarded, topped with a half hipped tiled roof. It consists of four bays, with one bay added away from the main house. There is a gabled midstrey leading to the yard on the second bay from the house, which has double doors, and an additional door in the added bay. At the rear, there is a catslide roof over an aisle lean-to that extends from all but the bay nearest the house. The three-bay wheel house extends to the rear across the River Mimram, is also weatherboarded, and has a pantiled roof. The wheel has been removed, but part of the gearing remains. Inside, there are some curved braces connecting straight posts to cambered tie beams, along with angled struts clasping the purlins.
