Description
This building is a barn and wheel house located 30 metres east of Holbeam, dating from the 17th century and early 19th century. The barn is timber framed, set on a flint base, and is weather boarded with flint, topped by a plain tiled roof. The wheel house and threshing house are constructed from flint with red brick dressings and have an asphalt roof. The barn features a hipped roof with a hipped mid-strey. The threshing house, which is two storeys tall, is situated at the right end and has a circular wheel house at the rear. Inside, the barn consists of three bays and aisles, and it was likely originally designed with four or five bays. The barn has passing shores to the arcade posts and a clasped purlin roof. There are no remaining machines in the threshing house or wheel house.
