Description
Arnolds Oak Farmhouse is a manor house that dates back to the 16th century and was extended in the early 19th century. The building features a timber frame with rendered and painted brick, topped with plain tiled roofs. It consists of a four-bay block from the 16th century, with a two-bay wing added to the left in the 19th century.
The 16th-century wing is two storeys high with an attic and sits on a plinth. It has a continuous jetty that is underbuilt to the left. The roof is hipped and includes a central stack and two hipped dormers. On the first floor, there is one glazing bar sash window and two wooden casements. The ground floor has one glazing bar sash, one tripartite sash, and one wooden casement.
The 19th-century wing is also two storeys high and sits on a plinth, featuring stacks on both the left and right sides. The first floor has two glazing bar sash windows and a central stair light, while the ground floor includes one tripartite glazing bar sash and a door to the right, which has six raised and fielded panels and a traceried semi-circular fan set in a Doric porch.
