Description

Divan Court is a house dating from the 16th century with additions from the early 19th century. It is partly timber framed, built on a flint base and rendered, with tiled roofs. The main 19th-century range is accompanied by an earlier section that returns to the right. The front of the house has a hipped roof with three chimney stacks to the left and centre, and a large projecting flint chimney stack at the right end. It has three glazing bar sash windows on each floor, and a six-panel door to the left. The right return front is a mix of flint and red brick on the ground floor, topped by a steeply pitched hipped roof that steps down to the right. This house is one of the original manor houses of Eastling, and its name comes from the medieval Dive family, who once owned it.
