Description
The Carpenters Arms Inn is a public house that dates from the 16th century and around 1800. The rear wing is timber framed and rendered, with a red brick underbuilding and a plain tiled roof. The front wing is made of red brick and also has a plain tiled roof. The road-facing side has two storeys with a hipped roof, featuring a regular arrangement of three glazing bar sash windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, along with a central half-glazed door set in a panelled surround, topped with a projecting cornice on pilasters. The rear wing is one storey with an attic, which includes one hipped dormer and a large stack positioned towards the centre right. It has a central half-glazed door, a wood casement window, and a catslide outshot to the left.
