Description

This is a pump located on a road island at the junction with Covey's Lane, dating from the 18th or 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a circular barrel with two raised rings. The pump has a corbelled moulded expansion leading to the chamber and a top flange. It is topped with a fluted cap that has an acorn finial. On the east side, there is a single tapered spout with a bucket spur, and on the north side, there is a curved wrought iron handle. This roadside public pump holds social and technological significance.
