Description
The pump located in the northeast corner of the garden of number 66 on Station Road dates from the 18th or 19th century. It is made of cast iron and stands about 5 feet high. The pump features a raised ring on the barrel and a heavy moulded spout designed with a ring to hold the bucket handle instead of a spur. The flared chamber has a corbelled moulded expansion, with a raised ring at its midpoint and a bracket for the handle. On the west side, there is an S-shaped wrought iron handle. The top of the pump is capped with a conical cap that has a base ring and a three-stage moulded finial. This pump is noted for its unusual design.
