Description

This is a 17th-century timber-framed house located on Station Road. It is a one-and-a-half-story building with a thatched, gabled roof running parallel to the road and facing north. A large internal gable stack is located at the east end, rising through the rear slope of the roof, while a smaller external gable stack on the west serves the ground floor only. The exterior is weatherboarded, but the front and west end have been plastered and decorated with large, raised roundels featuring a radial pattern. A lower, gabled rear wing extends to the southwest and is slated and weatherboarded, with an internal lateral chimney on the east side. The front facade has two windows, and there are two-light wooden casement windows throughout. A centrally positioned plank door is sheltered by a simple, thatched gabled trellis porch. Two modern, two-light dormers have been added to the front eaves under the thatch eyebrows. Additional two-light casement windows are located in the attics, set within gables to the east and west. A modern garage and connecting link are set back on the southwest side of the property.
