Description

This is a tall cast iron pump located in the pavement next to the barn at the rear of Number 1, dating from the 18th to early 19th century. The pump features a bolted bottom flange and has four rings in the height of the barrel, with the first spurred spout positioned centrally. It has a moulded corbel stage that expands into a larger cylindrical chamber, which includes a second spurred spout. The pump is equipped with a wrought iron handle that has an S-curve, pivoted in a double flange on the south side of the chamber. At the top, there is a domed moulded cap with an acorn finial. This is an unusual two-spout pump that is well preserved.
