Description

Hoskins Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It has a timber frame that is plastered and features a steep gabled roof, which is now covered with slate. The cottage is small, with two storeys and two windows. A single red brick chimney projects from the north gable, widening to accommodate a single original fireplace on the ground floor, with an added brick area below the window that may have served as an oven. The central door is framed by a wooden gabled porch and features a plank door. The cottage has 19th-century two-light wood casement windows, with the upper floor windows being taller than those on the ground floor. At the back, there is a 19th-century lean-to extension made of slate and plastered brick, which includes a chimney constructed from stock brick.
