Description
The Dial House is a house located in Westmill, dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and around 1900. It features a timber frame that is roughcast, topped with a steep old red tile roof, which was formerly half-hipped at the southern end. The house has a three-unit central-chimney plan and faces west. It is two storeys high and has four windows across the front. The windows are flush box sash style with six-over-six panes, along with one triple sash window. A gabled wing extends to the rear. The entrance is now located in the southern gable, featuring an entrance sash in a lean-to next to a six-light segmental bow casement window that has a cornice and flat top. Above this, there is a four-light casement window, and at the apex of the bargeboarded gable, there is a large stone carved sundial with a pedimented hood, which is dated 1793.
