Description
Home Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with renovations made in the 18th century. It features a timber frame that is roughcast, with a weatherboarded apron on the front, and has a steep old red tile roof. This small house has one and a half storeys and faces west, with the south gable end adjacent to the roadside. The west front includes two gabled dormers at the eaves level, two windows, and a boarded door that is sheltered by a glazed timber gabled porch. The windows are three-light casements, with one on each floor of the south gable, all featuring lattice leaded glazing and iron opening lights. There is an internal gable chimney at the north end and two rear-wall chimneys, with the one at the south end capped off. A low battened door is located at the corner next to the road, and there is an old lead pump in front of the house.
