Schoolmaster's house. Circa 1894 for the nearby National School for Infants erected 1894 with E S Hanbury as treasurer (plaque on School porch). Red brick with moulded stone dressings. Pebbledashed jettied and gabled upper floor to front porch. Steep handmade red tile roof. A pretty one and a half storeys Arts and Crafts Style cottage by the school gate, facing E. Contemporary single-storey service range extending to rear at N end. Asymmetrical balanced design. Road front has moulded stone Tudor arched door with sunk spandrels. boarded door with hinge plates decorated with flowers and 2-light ovolo moulded mullioned stone window to left. Moulded bressumer to 3 sides of jettied upper floor. 3-light mullioned and transomed ovolo stone casement window to right with label, and boldly projecting chimney to left of porch. Gabled S end to school yard has the gable top boldly projected on wooden brackets off stone corbels to shelter a tall 2-storeys canted bay window with leaded casements between deep bands of render. Small polygonal bay window in angle with rear range. An unusually decorative small house, important in the street scene.
