Description
The east range of farm buildings at Standon Friars, located 60 meters to the north of the farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century. These structures feature timber frames set on red brick sills, with dark weatherboarding and slate roofs. The buildings are arranged in a reversed F shape, with a granary attached to the end of the lower cross-stroke, which consists of byres and stables. The upper cross-stroke is a taller five-bay barn that has a half-hipped roof, unjowled posts, long curved braces supporting the tie beams, and a queen-strut roof with one purlin on each slope. There are large doorways in the middle bay and round-headed pigeon holes arranged in four rows above the south doorway leading to the yard.
