Description
Gardener's Cottage is located in the walled gardens southeast of Balls Park Mansion. This cottage dates from the 18th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick laid in Flemish bond and features a hipped roof covered with old tiles. The first floor has mansard slopes that are hung with early 20th-century fishscale tiles.
The cottage is two storeys high and includes two dormers on the roof, each with Gothick-headed two-light casements. There are also two similar windows on the ground floor. The cottage is positioned astride the east wall of the north walled garden. The interior has not been inspected.
