Description

Gardener’s Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage with a mid-19th century extension, situated on the south side of Melton Road, Rempstone. The building is constructed of painted brick, with a slate roof featuring overhanging eaves and two red brick ridge stacks. It is two storeys high, with a three-bay facade. The side walls are canted, and the right side is a mid-19th century extension. The central doorway has a part-glazed door and a glazing bar overlight. Single glazing bar sash windows flank the doorway, and three smaller sashes are positioned above. The first floor of the right canted side has a single sash window, while the first floor of the left side has a single recessed panel. All openings and the panel are finished with flush wedge brick lintels.
