2 adjacent barns. W barn late C16: E barn early C17. Timber frames on low brick sills, dark weatherboarded, with steep pitched roofs now covered in green painted corrugated iron. 2 tall barns in-line, each with a gabled projection on the S side. W barn taller, of 4 bays with gabled S porch in 2nd bay from E. Jowled bay-posts, unjowled mid-bay posts, staggered mid-height rail, long straight braces to cambered tie-beams, inclined straight queen-posts carrying a single clasped-purlin in each slope. Edge-halved scarf with bridled butts in wallplate. E barn of 4 bays with double doors in N in 2nd bay from E and gabled projection to rear of same bay. Jowled bay-posts, unjowled mid-bay posts, mid-height rail in-line, straight braces to wallplate, long straight braces to cambered tie-beams, slender inclined straight queen-posts carrying a single clasped-purlin in each slope, straight wind-braces at gable ends. Separate framed wall originally against W barn with collar-and-queen-strut truss and mortices for wall studs under tie-beam. Squint butted bare-faced tenon scarf joint in wallplate. Important features in landscape and in farmstead group.
