Description
The barns located to the northeast of West End Farmhouse date from the 17th and 18th centuries. They feature a timber-frame construction with weatherboarding and a corrugated iron roof. The 5-bay 17th-century barn has an open central bay and a cob and corrugated iron lean-to at the right end, with a half-hipped roof. Inside, it has a queen strut roof supported by aisles and posts on brick piers. Attached to the left is an 18th-century 6-bay barn with a lower ridge, which has an open fourth bay from the right and a brick outshot at the right end. The roof of this barn extends from the half-hip of the 17th-century barn and is also half-hipped on the left. Inside, it features an aisled queen post strut roof.
