Description

Numbers 25 and 25A are two shops housed in a building that dates from the mid-18th century, with parts at the rear likely being older. The front features late 19th and 20th-century shopfronts. The structure is made of red brick and has a plaster coved eaves cornice with a slated roof. It is a wide, three-storey building with three windows, positioned on the pavement facing north. The ground floor is occupied by two shopfronts, with a carriageway on the left side leading to a rear yard. The upper floors feature recessed sash windows with segmental arches, painted reveals, and 10/10 panes. The west window on the first floor is a canted oriel with 12/12 pane sashes, a moulded cornice, and an ogee plaster apron. The outbuildings, which can be seen from Akeman Street, have steep old red tile roofs. There are six-panel double doors on the street leading to the carriageway.
