Description
Numbers 99 and 101 (Springfield) is a 17th-century timber-framed house that features an 18th-century parapeted front, early 19th-century stucco, and doorcases, as well as mid-19th-century sash windows. The building has an old tiled roof and stands two storeys tall, with single attic box dormers in steeper-roofed, two-window sections at each end. The parapet curves up at the ends and there are cornice bands on the first floor. The house has eight windows in total, including two first-floor 6/6-pane sash windows on the south side, while the others have margin lights. The entrance is located to the right of centre and features a door with six fielded, one-glazed panels, heavy scroll brackets, and a dentil cornice. There is a similar door on the south side and a segmental-arched coach entrance to the left of centre. The building also has mid-17th-century shaped gables at either end.
