Description
No 6 on High Street is a 17th-century house with an early 19th-century brick front. It features a high-pitched tiled roof that is partly hidden behind a parapet. The building has two storeys and includes two late 19th-century canted bay windows. The early 19th-century door, which has a glazed upper part, is set in a deep, panelled reveal. Above the door and the first-floor window, there are late 19th-century hoods supported by brackets. The west side of the house displays some timber framing with rough-cast filling, and part of the first floor is tile-hung, featuring a slightly curved early 19th-century sash window. At the north end, there is a Regency-period room with a semi-circular end, topped by a low-pitched, rounded slate roof and a domed ceiling. This room includes a round-arched double door with a reeded architrave and paterae at the spring, as well as a slightly curved sash window with Gothic glazing. The timbered west section has three early 19th-century casement windows, which have been restored.
