Description

This is a mid-to-late 18th century house of three storeys and three windows, situated on the south side of High Street. The house has a low-pitched slate roof with a deep, projecting cornice. The front is of colour-washed brick, with a horizontal band at the level of the first floor. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set in near-flush, moulded frames and are topped with gauged brick arches. The ground floor windows are of three lights. The first floor centre window is now a modern three-light casement, but its gauged, moulded round arch with a keystone suggests it was originally Venetian in style. The front door consists of two fielded panels above four glazed panels, within a shouldered architrave featuring narrow, panelled pilasters and a dentilled cornice hood supported by brackets. Numbers 15 through 19 form a group.
