Description

The building at 20 High Street is an 18th-century structure with a 16th or early 17th-century core. It is a two-storey, two-window building with a brick front, topped by a stone cornice and parapet. The roof is steeply pitched and tiled, with a double span. The first floor has two sash windows with glazing bars. A modern shop front occupies the ground floor.

A long, gabled rear extension, appearing 17th century in style, is present, featuring a tall, two-shaft brick chimney. A plaque indicates the building was formerly "Old White Hart 1590".

Inside, numerous exposed beams and a stone fireplace with a Tudor arch are visible.

The building is part of a group with numbers 12, 16 to 28 (even), and 28A.
