Description
Winton House, YWCA is an early 19th-century house located on the north side of High Street. It has three storeys and three windows, constructed of brick with a plaster finish. The building features a high parapet that conceals a moderately low-pitched slated roof. The windows are recessed sash types with glazing bars, with the ground floor windows consisting of three lights. The central entrance door has six panels, topped with a cornice and a diamond-patterned fanlight, set in a panelled reveal. A massive, prostyle Doric porch with fluted columns enhances the entrance. The ground floor is rusticated up to the first-floor band. Winton House is part of a group that includes No 12 and Nos 16 to 28 (even) and No 28A.
