Description
Fir Lodge is a building from the early 18th century with late 18th century details, located on Crossbrook Street in Cheshunt. It features a red brick exterior and a steeply pitched roof covered with machine tiles. The building is two storeys high and has a parapet along the top. There are three modern box dormers and floor bands that enhance its symmetry. The entrance includes a four-fielded-panel door topped by an oval-pattern radiating fan within a fielded reveal, surrounded by thin pilasters, paterae, and a dentilled open pediment. The façade also has five segmental-headed flush sash windows in moulded frames, with the central window being very narrow. There are chimney stacks at each end of the building. Inside, there is notable panelling that adds to its historical significance.
