Description

BROAD GROVES is a house located on the west side of Chelmsford Road in Great Dunmow. It dates from the late 17th century and has early 19th-century alterations. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tile roof. It stands two storeys high and features three bays along with a chimney bay. The house has a three-window range, with vertical sliding sashes that include glazing bars and side lights. There is a simple flat canopy supported by brackets over the door, and the eaves are scalloped. The original chimney stacks are made of red brick.
