Description
Houseground is a house dating from the early to mid 17th century. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring gabled roofs covered with peg tiles. The building has one storey and attics, with an unarticulated crosswing at the southeast end. At the northwest end, there is a lower block that includes a gabled dormer. The main block's northwest end has a 20th-century gable in the front roof plane, which is above a 20th-century Tudor style door adorned with carved spandrels. There is a concertina stack over inglenooks along the off-centre ridge line. The windows are 20th-century leaded light casements in oak frames, while the original diamond mullion window is located in the old northwest end wall. Additionally, there is a 17th-century staircase handrail.
