Description

Apton Fields is a house dating back to the 15th century, originally a hall house, with alterations made in the 16th century and the incorporation of some outbuildings. The house is two storeys high. It has a hipped roof covered in plain red tiles, and an exposed timber frame with plastered infill panels. A 20th-century porch is located on the left side, and a 20th-century extension is on the right. The front features three windows with diamond-leaded casements, also from the 20th century. The entrance door is off-centre and has a tiled porch that extends beyond the central ground-floor window. An off-centre chimney stack is constructed of red brick. Throughout the house, the timber frame is exposed, featuring stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
