Description
The Stores and the house adjoining on the north, located on South Street in Great Chesterford, were originally two separate houses but have now been combined into one tenement. This early 19th-century building features a timber frame with plastered exterior. It stands two storeys tall, with the stores section having a gable at the west end and a front that is plastered in panels. The front has four windows, which are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. Above the first storey windows, there is a cornice. The stores also include a double-fronted shop front that dates from the 19th or early 20th century. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. The adjoining house to the north has two windows, along with an extension that includes one additional window; these are also double-hung sashes with glazing bars, and the roof is similarly slate-covered.
