Description

Carmelstead Cottage is a small timber-framed and plastered house from the 17th century or earlier. It has one storey and attics, featuring casement windows and a boarded door. The roof is thatched and includes one gabled and tiled dormer window. An original central chimney stack with a diagonally set shaft is present. The cottage likely has an earlier origin and is said to be a hall house, with later additions of a floor and stack.
