Description

This is a 17th-century barn located approximately 30 meters northwest of Hobbs Farmhouse in Great Canfield. The barn is timber-framed, with sections that are plastered and weatherboarded, and it features a thatched roof that is half-hipped at both ends. It has three bays aligned northeast to southwest, with a midstrey on the southeast side. Notable architectural details include jowled storey posts, cambered tiebeams, primary straight bracing in the walls, and a clasped purlin roof.
