Description

This is a 17th-century barn located approximately 20 metres northwest of the house known as Salkyns in Great Canfield. The barn is timber-framed, with the lower walls and gable featuring weatherboarding, while the upper walls are plastered. It has a thatched roof and consists of three bays, with a midstrey (a type of overhanging structure) on the south side. The barn features jowled storey posts and primary straight bracing in the walls, along with a clasped purlin roof that is half-hipped at both ends. The central bay has been lined with masonry for use as a garage.
