Description

This is a 16th-century barn located approximately 40 metres north-north-east of Hobbs Farmhouse in Great Canfield. The barn is timber-framed, with sections that are part plastered and part weatherboarded, topped with a tiled roof. It consists of three bays aligned from north-north-west to south-south-east, featuring a midstrey on the eastern side. There is a lean-to extension in the north-eastern corner, which has a catslide roof. The structure includes jowled storey posts, cambered tiebeams with arch braces, and the roof structure has been altered above the tiebeam level. Additionally, there is curved bracing that is trenched inside the studs.
