Description
18 and 18A High Street is a 17th-century building that serves as shops and a flat. It has two storeys with attics and a return block on Angel Lane, which has one storey and attics. The structure is timber framed and plastered, topped with a peg tile roof. The front block features a half-hipped roof with three gabled casement dormers, while the return block has a gabled roof with three lean-to dormers that also contain casements.
On the High Street side, there is a central tripartite double hung sash window with small panes on the first floor, flanked by narrower double hung sashes. The ground floor has two 20th-century shopfronts. The return front includes casement windows, two plain glass windows, and a late 18th-century blocked doorcase, which has a flat hood supported by small lattice-patterned brackets.
