Description
47 and 47A Market Street is a shop and flat, likely dating from the 17th century, with a later 18th-century facade. The building is constructed from rendered and colourwashed brick, topped with a roof of overlapping tiles. It has two storeys and a dormer attic. The ground floor features a 20th-century glazed shop front, with a 20th-century door on the right that leads to the upper chambers. On the first floor, there are three sash windows with glazing bars in exposed frames, each with hoods supported by scrolled brackets. The building has a low parapet beneath a gabled roof and includes one flat-topped dormer. There is an internal gable-end stack on the east side, and the rear has a long slated 20th-century outshut along with other additions.
