Description

This is a barn located 30 meters west of Hyde Farmhouse, dating from the late 16th century and earlier. It features a timber frame construction with a hipped asbestos cement roof and consists of six bays. On the west side, there is one gabled and one catslide midstrey. The walls are covered in black weatherboarding. Three of the bays are part of an earlier structure, likely from the 14th century, characterized by heavy arch braces and simple through splayed scarf joints. The two northern bays and one southern bay are late 16th-century extensions, which include halved and bridled scarf joints, as well as chamfered posts, jowls, and arch braces. The roof has been rebuilt.
