Description
The Surgery is a house located on Manningtree High Street, featuring 18th century elements that may have earlier origins. It is constructed of red brick and has a hipped grey slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall, with attics and cellars, and includes a rear red brick chimney stack and additional rear ranges. There is a band between the ground and first floor windows. The facade has a seven-window range with small-paned vertically sliding sashes, gauged brick arches, and smaller windows on the top floor. To the left of the main doorway, there is a basement grill. The central entrance features a six-panel door with a traceried fanlight above it. The door is flanked by reveal panels, with capitals and bases on the pilasters, and a Greek key motif on the frieze, topped by a flat canopy.
