Description

Augusta House is a house that features elements from the 18th century, though it may have an earlier origin. It is constructed of red brick and has a hipped red tiled roof. There are red brick chimney stacks on both the right and left sides, topped with a parapet that has a moulded and dentilled brick cornice. The house is two storeys high and has a five-window range, featuring small paned vertically sliding sashes with gauged brick arches above them. Three steps lead up to a six-panelled door, which is topped by a traceried semi-circular fanlight. The door is flanked by half columns that have moulded bases and capitals. The raised open pediment is adorned with triglyphs and has moulded and dentilled soffits.
