Description

These cottages date from the 17th century or earlier, with later additions and alterations. They are timber-framed, with some sections faced in red brick, some with exposed timber, and others plastered. The roof is red plain tiled, featuring two flat-headed dormers with 19th-century casement windows on the right-hand side. There are three red brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high, although the right-hand section is one storey with attics. The first floor has five windows, including three three-light leaded casements. The ground floor has six windows, three of which are small, horizontally sliding sashes. There are two vertically boarded doors. The right-hand side of the building may connect with No. 1 St. James Street.
