Description
This barn, located approximately 70 metres north-west of Badliss Hall, dates from the 18th century but has earlier origins. It is constructed from timber framing and is covered with weatherboarding, topped by a thatched roof. The barn features two gabled midstreys; one midstry consists of two bays with some red brick rat trap bond infill, while the double doors facing the yard are adorned with eyebrow thatching. The barn has a total of seven bays, with bolted hanging knees supporting the tie beams and through bracing in the walls. The roof is primarily constructed with a side purlin ridge board system. This barn, along with the one to the south, is depicted on an estate map from 1773.
