Description

This guide post, located on the eastern verge at the junction of Frating Hill and Church Road, dates from the late 19th century and is made of cast iron. It was produced by the Maldon Ironworks. The tall post features a flat semi-circular finial that reads "Parish of Frating. E.C.C. Stick no bills." An arm attached to the post indicates directions and distances to Frating Church (¾ mile), Thorrington Station (2 miles), Great Bentley (2¾ miles), and Brightlingsea (5 miles).
