Description

This is a milepost located on the northwestern verge, approximately 20 metres north of the junction with Crown Lane. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of cast iron, with an 18th-century stone backing. The milepost has a triangular shape with a flat head. The front displays the inscription "To London 54," while the left side reads "Harwich 18" and the right side reads "Colchester 3." Part of the inscription on the milestone is visible, stating "London LVI." This milepost is part of a series.
