Description
Chase Cottages is a row of cottages dating from the 17th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. The cottages are timber framed and plastered, with painted brick on the left end and right return. They feature a red plain tiled roof with end and central chimney stacks. The building is one storey with attics and has four gabled dormers on the front and one on the rear. There are five small paned windows, two tripartite sashes, and two windows with shutters. The far left has a vertically boarded door with a simple surround. To the left is a six-panelled door with a flat canopy on brackets. Off centre to the right is a four-board door with a flat canopy supported by hanging brackets. The cottages also display some old pargetting and the date 1626 is inscribed above the second door on the left.
