Description

The house is likely of 18th century or earlier date, with 19th and later additions and alterations. It is timber-framed and clad with weatherboard, featuring red plain tiled roofs. The main range is to the left, with right and left red brick chimney stacks. A 19th-century forward range extends to the right and has its own chimney stack. It is gabled and has an outshot rear range. The house is two storeys high, with a 3:1 window arrangement. Vertically sliding sash windows are present, with small panes to the left range and horns to the right range. A flat-roofed 19th-century ground floor bay is situated on the front. The central entrance has a 4-panelled door with side lights, approached by three stone steps with iron balusters to the curved side rails. A slanting porch sits above a set of moulded brackets, with elaborate detail to the cornice. Internal vertically sliding shutters are present to the front ground floor windows. Internally, there are four 18th- and 19th-century marble fire surrounds, two other moulded fire surrounds, and four with cast iron inner surrounds and grates. Some rooms feature moulded cornices.
