Description

The Plough and Sail Inn is a public house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed from timber framing and is weatherboarded, topped with a red plain tiled roof. The building features a central red brick chimney stack and stands two storeys tall, with a one-storey and attic rear range that includes two catslide dormers. The front has a two-window range of small-paned, two-light casements. A central 20th-century gabled porch with a glazed door is present, and there is a 20th-century flat-roofed single-storey extension at the rear of the left side.
