Description
This barn, located approximately 60 metres southeast of Ridgemarsh Farmhouse, dates from the 16th or 17th century and has undergone later alterations, including a re-roofing in the late 18th century. The walls are clad in corrugated iron, and it features a hipped roof covered with red pantiles. The structure consists of four bays and includes jowled storey posts. Originally, it had arched braces connecting to the tie beams, but these have been replaced with hanging knees. The walls are primarily supported by through bracing, which includes side girts, halved bracing in some bays, and arched braces in one bay. The roof is supported by a side purlin ridge board.
