Description

This is a barn located west of Burrows Farmhouse, dating from the late 16th century with alterations from the 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, topped with a red pantiled roof that is half hipped on the right side. The barn consists of seven bays and features a 17th-century midstrey at the rear. Notable architectural details include jowled storey posts, arched braces to the tie beams, and through bracing. A bridled scarf is also present. The date of around 1846 found on a beam likely refers to the time when the roof was covered with pantiles.
